Eleven licensed premises to shut during Appleby Horse Fair 2022

Please note that some licensed premises in Appleby and Kirkby Stephen will be closed during Appleby Horse Fair.

This is the information we have at the moment (May 26th) and some licensed premises may change their plans. We’ll update this list as and when we get more details.

The following pubs and licensed premises in the Appleby area will be closed:

  • The Hare & Hounds
  • Appleby Cricket Club
  • Royal Oak
  • Crown & Cushion
  • The New Inn at Hoff (closed from 29th May until 13th June)
  • The Three Greyhounds Inn, Great Asby
     

The following pubs and licensed premises in the Kirkby Stephen area will be closed:

  • L’al Nook (Closed from the last weekend in May)
  • Upper Eden R.U.F.C (Closed from the last weekend in May)
  • The Kings Arms Hotel
  • Taggy Man (Closed from June 2nd)
  • Black Bull Hotel (Closed from June 2nd)
  • Golden Fleece at Brough (Closed from June 6-12)
  • Outfitters at Brough (Open daytime on the Jubilee weekend only)
     

The following pubs and licensed premises in the Appleby area will be open but may be operating differently:

  • Midland Hotel
  • The Kings Head (Outside only)
  • Grapes (Outside only)
  • Masons at Long Marton (open 12pm to 11pm daily.)
  • Stagg Inn at Dufton
  • New Crown at Bolton
  • Sandford Arms
  • Butchers at Crosby Ravensworth
  • Angelos Ristorante
  • Ashiana
     

The following pubs and licensed premises in the Kirkby Stephen area will be open but may be operating differently:

  • Pennine Hotel (Closing daily at 10.30pm)
  • Engine Shed (Open daily between 4pm and 10pm - for residents only)
  • Sports & Social Club
  • Black Bull Inn at Nateby (open as normal)
  • Kings Head at Ravenstonedale
  • Black Swan Hotel
  • Fat Lamb Inn (For residents and bookings only)
  • Bay Horse in Winton (Closing daily at 10.30pm)
  • New Inn at Brough (For weddings and events only)
